MEDIA RELEASE: Joint Investigation between Federal Bureau of Investigation, Baltimore Field Office (FBI), Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Hagerstown Police Department leads to arrests.
In early 2016, both the Hagerstown Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office began investigating complaints into an online prostitution business. Once both agencies realized they were investigating the same illegal business, they began to coordinate their efforts.
The prostitution business – Lovely Business Entertainment Agency started in February 2016 and operated a website that sold their “escort services”, which was found to be a front for the “sex for money” operation.
The investigation revealed Lauren Jones and Orayl Ingram were operating the illegal business from 2015 into late 2016.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that the illegal business/activities spanned numerous states including Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and D.C. After making this discovery, investigators reached out to the FBI Baltimore Field Office to further the investigation.
Lauren Elizabeth Jones, 25, and Orayl Dal Vonte Ingram, 25, both of Hagerstown, were charged in the United States District Court for the following charges:
- Interstate Transportation for Prostitution
