Media Release:
On January 30, 2018 at approximately 1:00 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to Pope Tire, 11000 Bower Avenue, in reference to an armed male.
It was reported that a recently terminated employee, identified as Albert Earl Bean 3rd, was sitting in his vehicle outside of the business, with a handgun. Witnesses reported that Bean had come to the business to speak with the owner. The owner declined to speak with Bean at that time and Bean was asked to leave. Witnesses stated Bean pulled out a black pistol and loaded it with a magazine. Bean then racked the slide of the pistol, loading a round into the chamber. After Bean loaded the firearm, he placed it next to him and patted it with his hand. Bean made the statement that, “I’m crazy but I ain’t stupid, and this is going to stay right here” and, “I ain’t got nothing but time.”
The witnesses quickly went back into the business and secured the doors.
Bean was located sitting inside of his vehicle outside of the business. Bean complied with orders from deputies and was taken into custody without incident. A pistol was located on the front seat of the vehicle, under some clothing.
Bean was transported to Central Booking.
Albert Earl Bean 3rd is charged with Reckless Endangerment and Dangerous Weapon-Conceal.
The Maryland State Police assisted the Sheriff’s Office during this incident.
