The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Hagerstown man in connection to the discharge of a firearm in Williamsport, MD.
On May 6, 2019 at approximately 4:22 pm, deputies responded to the 200 block of W. Potomac Street, Williamsport, MD, in reference to a weapons discharge. Upon arrival, deputies contacted witnesses who stated a male, identified as Zachary Edward Lee Embly, 21, of Hagerstown, had pointed a handgun at them and then fired the handgun into the air. One of the witnesses handed the deputy a shell casing allegedly from the involved handgun. The witnesses stated the incident occurred in the parking area of the Cushwa Basin in Williamsport.
The incident was the result of an on-going domestic issue.
Embly has been charged with 3 counts of Assault 1st degree, 3 counts of Assault 2nd degree, Handgun on person, Handgun in vehicle, and Reckless Endangerment.
Embly was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center on no-bond.
