Media Release:
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Williamsport man with 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
An investigation of Brent Douglas Baker, 27, of West Potomac Street, Williamsport, MD, began in October 2019, when the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cybertip originally filed with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children..
Microsoft had provided NCMEC with information about a customer of its service being in possession of apparent child pornography on August 26th. The account was traced to Baker’s address.
Microsoft provided a file to investigators that depicted an image of a child having sexual interaction with an adult female.
On Nov. 14, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the house. They seized a cellphone Baker was in possession of when they entered the home. It was examined and found to have child pornography in it, the document said.
Baker was taken into custody and questioned.
Baker was seen by the Washington County District Court Commissioner’s Office and released on personal recognizance.
