One-Day “LATERAL” Patrol Deputy Hiring Event

*Current Law Enforcement certification by Maryland Police Training Commission (MPCTC) or a comparable certification from a State outside of Maryland

The Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a One-Day “Certified Lateral” Patrol Deputy Sheriff Hiring Event on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 8:00A.M. Applicants are to arrive at 7:30A.M. for pre-registration. Physical Fitness/Handgun Familiarization Test will begin promptly at 8:00A.M. No late entries will be permitted.

MD Certified Officers are exempt from written examination, oral board interview and not required to attend another police academy. Applicants who pass the Physical Fitness Test will continue to the Command Oral Board Interview beginning directly afterward. Contingent upon passing both the PFT and Command Interview a Conditional Offer will be issued the same day!

All testing and interviews will be conducted at HCC, Hagerstown Community College in the Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center (ARCC) located at 11400 Robinwood Drive Hagerstown, MD. 21742.

The Release of Liability and Physician’s Certification MUST be completed and submitted on the testing date, February 25, 2023. The Physician’s Certification must be completed within 30 days of the Physical Fitness Test date to be considered valid. A valid government issued photo identification is required at time of testing.
