MEDIA RELEASE:
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting.
On September 3, 2017 at approximately 03:45 AM, the Sheriff’s Office responded to Waffle House, 306 E. Potomac Street, Williamsport, for a reporting shooting/stabbing.
It was reported that several subjects began to fight within the restaurant; an employee attempted to break up the fight and was cut on the left wrist. Witnesses reported a single shot being fired during the incident, as well. The individuals involved in the altercation fled prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
The employee was transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatments of their injury and later released.
Several hours later, a male arrived at Meritus Medical Center, via private transport, for treatment of a gunshot wound which occurred during the Waffle House incident. The male suffered a graze wound to his left forearm. He was treated and released, as well.
The investigation into this incident is on-going; no further details are available.
