Can I put money in an inmate's account?
You can now deposit money online using a credit/debit card by visiting www.JPay.com. Click on “Send Money” and enter your inmate ID. To deposit money by phone, please call our 24 hour call-center at (800)-574-5729. Agents are available in English and Spanish. The inmates account will be credit within 24 hours, not including weekends and banking holidays. For more information click here.
When are visiting hours?
There are no set visiting hours. Inmates can initiate a visit via their tablet to their contacts and the contact can choose to accept or decline the visit.
Do visitors have to be on a list to get in?
There are no visiting lists. The inmate must enter his friends and/or family as a contact.
How can I get an Inmate release date?
Release dates are confidential and therefore not made public. It is the inmate’s responsibility to give their release date to whom they wish to have it.
Can I put money on an Inmate's account?
The Washington County Detention Center has a Kiosk System in the main lobby that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Accepted forms of payment are cash, credit card or debit card (no checks or money orders). The Kiosk System is touch screen and very user friendly.

What and when can I bring in personal property for an inmate?
Property is not accepted at the Detention Center. Inmates must purchase underwear, T-shirts, socks, thermal underwear, gym shorts and sneakers and bras (for females only). Inmates are advised of this policy during the intake process, and it is their responsibility to make arrangements for these items.

When are the inmates allowed to make phone calls?
If someone wants to get calls from an inmate, they need to call ViaPath at 800-483-8314 for Advance Pay or 855-706-2445 for PIN Debit. It can be accomplished online at www.ConnectNetwork.com or via mobile app (search for ConnectNetwork for phones & GettingOut for messaging.
How can an inmate get on the work release or home detention program?
Inmates are reviewed for eligibility by Detention Center Staff. Judge must then approve work release or home detention. Inmates can be sentenced or on pre-trial status.
How does an inmate get bailed out of jail? How do I find a bondsman and how does that work?
Most District Court bonds are posted at the District Court Commissioners office, located just outside Central Booking at 500 Western Maryland Parkway, Hagerstown MD, but there are exceptions.
During Court Hours, Circuit Court bonds must be posted through the Circuit Court located at 95 W. Washington St., Hagerstown MD between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm., some Circuit Court bonds can be posted through the Commissioner’s Office after hours as well.
Contact the District Court Commissioner’s Office at 240-313-2840 to determine if any bond, Circuit or District, can be posted through the Commissioners office and ways to post that bond.
