On December 13, 2024, at approximately 8:12 PM, deputies responded to the area of Pennsylvania Ave, between Maugans Avenue and North Pointe Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

 

On arrival, deputies located an adult male deceased in the roadway. The vehicle which struck the male had left the area.

 

The deceased male has been identified as Jonathan Andres Cruz, 37, of Hagerstown, MD.

 

The roadway was closed for approximately 2.5 hours while the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team investigated the scene of the incident.

 

The vehicle involved and the driver of the vehicle have been identified.
