The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bomb threat.

On August 11, 2017 at approximately 6:02 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the Spring Hill Suites, 17280 Valley Mall Road, in reference to a bomb threat.

All guests and employees of the hotel were evacuated. 84 rooms had been rented at the time of the incident.

After a thorough check of the hotel and surrounding areas, no devices were located. Guests and employees were allowed to go back into the hotel at approximately 10:30 AM.

The only roadway impacted by the incident was a small portion of Cole Road, which runs behind the hotel.

The investigation into this incident is on-going.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all those who assisted in the search of the hotel, to include Maryland State Police K-9’s.
