Media Release:

On April 17, 2019 at approximately 02:30 am, Deputies responded to the area of the two lane bridge on Frederick Street, entering into Funkstown, MD, for a single vehicle personal injury collision.

A 1993 Lincoln passenger car, traveling on Frederick Street into Funkstown, left the roadway and went over the embankment.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver, identified as Joshua Jamaall Waiters, 30, of Hagerstown, was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Baltimore, for the treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was re-opened at approximately 4:10 am.

The investigation into this incident is on-going.
