Pedestrian Struck on Dual Highway, Hagerstown

MEDIA RELEASE: UPDATED INFORMATION
On August 6, 2023, at approximately 9:30 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1500 block of Dual Highway, Hagerstown, MD, for a personal injury collision involving a pedestrian.
It was determined that an adult female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene.
The struck female is currently at R. Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center in critical but stable condition.
Due to the ongoing investigation, further information is not being released.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police combine efforts to promote safe driving.

During June 2023, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and Drug Enforcement Agency Western Region conducted joint criminal and traffic initiatives focusing on criminal and traffic violations on Route 40 from Interstate 70 in Washington County, Maryland.

Route 40 is a high-volume area for criminal violations, traffic violations, and motor vehicle collisions. Troopers and Deputies worked a combined 50 hours resulting in 224 traffic stops. From those 224 traffic stops, 77 citations, 263 warnings, and 14 equipment violations were issued. Additionally, 1 Driving While Impaired arrest, 2 Warrant arrests, and 10 Controlled Dangerous Substance arrests were made.

Law Enforcement partners in Washington County will continue joining efforts to promote safe driving behavior throughout Washington County. The community is requested to contact their prospective law enforcement agency with any information on traffic and criminal concerns in Washington County.

Washington County Narcotics Task Force Arrests Hagerstown Man.

Media Release on behalf of the Washington County Narcotics Task Force:
On June 13, 2023, the Washington County Narcotics Task Force executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at an address on West Wilson Blvd in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Agents arrested Corey James Douglas, a 45-year-old male, on three outstanding warrants. Douglas was also found to be in possession of over 100 Grams of suspected Fentanyl, over 30 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and one handgun that he was prohibited from possessing.
Douglas was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held on the above charges.
The Washington County Narcotics Task Force was assisted in the investigation by the Hagerstown Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit.
